Terms of Service

Hammond & Associates provides notary public and document-related services. Availability of any particular service depends on applicable law, scheduling, location, and the nature of the documents involved.

Submitting a request does not create a confirmed appointment. Appointments are confirmed by return message from Hammond & Associates.

Hammond & Associates is not a law firm. A notary public is not an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New York and may not give legal advice about immigration or any other legal matter, accept fees for legal advice, or draft legal documents, unless separately authorized to do so by law.

We cannot advise which document you need, how to complete it, or what its legal effect will be.

Signers must be present as required, be able to communicate directly with the notary, appear willing and aware, and present current, acceptable government-issued identification.

Documents should be complete, with no blank spaces, before the appointment. Do not sign documents in advance unless instructed.

We are required to decline a notarization when identification is insufficient, the signer appears unable to understand the transaction, the document is incomplete, or the request would violate law or notarial standards. A travel fee may still apply when we have traveled to the appointment.

Statutory notarial fees apply per notarial act. Additional charges may apply for travel, after-hours or weekend appointments, waiting time, additional signers, printing, expedited service, and specialized services. Estimates are provided before service whenever possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for any claim arising from services is limited to the fees paid for the service in question. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, validity, or acceptance of documents by third parties.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
