Cancellation & Deposit Policy

Deposits are not charged automatically. After Hammond & Associates reviews your request, we confirm availability, quote the applicable amount, and send a secure payment link if a deposit is required. Deposits reserve appointment availability and are applied toward the final service balance. Additional fees may apply based on travel, document requirements, number of signers, after-hours appointments, or other requested services.

Certain appointments and specialized services require a deposit to reserve the requested time. Until a deposit is received, the time slot remains open to other clients.

Appointments may be rescheduled once at no additional charge with at least 24 hours' notice, subject to availability. The deposit transfers to the new appointment.

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment are eligible for a refund of the deposit, less any third-party processing fees.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment, and appointments where no signer is available at the agreed time and location, are considered non-refundable.

When we have traveled to a requested location, the travel fee is earned even if the notarization cannot be completed — for example due to missing identification, incomplete documents, or a signer who is unable to proceed.

Reasonable wait time is included. Extended waiting may be billed in additional increments.

In the rare event we must cancel or reschedule, you will be notified as early as possible and the deposit will be transferred to a new appointment or refunded in full at your preference.
